My experience in healthcare spans over three decades as a Physiotherapist and then as a Lymphoedema Therapist, working with patients to improve their health. I still love my job today as much as when I started!
I began by spending 3 years training at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, qualifying as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1981, before working in a variety of health care settings including London Teaching Hospitals, GP surgeries, Private Hospitals, Industry and as an an adviser for our professional association, The Chartered Society Of Physiotherapy, followed by many years in Private Practice. I also studied acupuncture and find this to be very effective additional tool in clinical practice, particularly for treating pain.
I have always been a "hands on" therapist, often working with patients with swelling. Personal experience of Lymphoedema deepened my interest in this often neglected field, and I went on to train as a Lymphoedema Therapist in the Vodder Method.
I was privileged to complete my training under Professor Hildegard Wittlinger at The Vodder School in Austria, qualifying in Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy in 2014 and becoming a member of MLD UK (DLT).
I continue to practise both as a Chartered and HCPC Registered Physiotherapist, (including Acupuncture in my practise) and as a Lymphatic Drainage Therapist (DLT). I have worked with thousands of patients with many conditions, so please do contact me to discuss how I can help you.
